Our sponsor, Backspace, is hosting two all-agent all-day seminars this November 6 & 7, 2007:
http://allagents.bksp.org/
You can attend one day, or you can attend both days. Either way, you'll be surrounded by more agents than you can probably handle without having a mini-literary breakdown.
Here's the agent roster: It's a who's who list of some of the best agents around:
Rachel Vater
Paul Cirone
Scott Hoffman
Jessica Faust
Michael Bourret
Liza Dawson
Janet Reid
Stephany Evans
Caren Johnson
Miriam Goderich
Kate Epstein
Joe Veltre
Elisabeth Weed
And that's just the short list....
Even if you've already queried HALF these agents and received rejections, you should still plan to attend (ESPECIALLY if you live in the Tri-state area).
Writers who are serious about this industry MUST get off-line and get out into the real world of publishing. If you want to understand what really goes on in the publishing industry, you have to actually HEAR agents speak about the business. You can't learn everything from online or from blogs. You just can't. And in-one day, Backspace gives you a marathon agent experience that's pretty darn irreplaceable.

I highly recommend this conference! You will learn so much in one day about how to query, what the agents are looking for, and the two minutes - two pages is the best idea a conference has ever had. Make certain you submit your first two pages. The agents are open and you get time to talk with them over coffee. I loved this conference!
